The Boho, 2015
Adelaide Biennial of South Australia, 2016
My identity is etched with the tales of Ned Kelly and the wild, rebellious spirit of the bushrangers and horsewoman. Growing up in the small town of Benalla, near the even smaller Boho in northeast Victoria, I was irresistibly drawn to this folklore, each story sparking a fire in my belly. The Boho, commissioned for the 2016 Adelaide Biennial for Magic Object, is my bold retelling—a vivid reawakening of the characters who haunted my youth and fuelled my fascination with Australia’s overrated outlaw mythos.
